Moon not sighted, Ramzan fasting to begin from Friday

Mysuru: As the Ramzan Chaand has not been sighted, the Mysore District Moon committee has decided to begin Ramzan from Friday.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Mysore District Wakf Advisory Committee office on Wednesday. Khazi of Mysore Hazrath Moulana Mohamed Usman Shariff sahib presided the meeting.

Information regarding sighting of moon was collected from various parts of Mysuru district as well as neighbouring Districts. After consulting the Central Moon Committee of the State, it was decided to start the Holy Month of Ramzan and fasting from Friday.

Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Zakaulla Saheb Siddiqui, Hazrath Moulana Maqbool Ahmed Nizami Saheb, Hazrath Moulana Mufti Syed Tajuddin, Hazrath Moulana Syed Shah Valiulla Umri, Moulana Abdus Salam Saheb Rizwi, Moulana Inayath ur Rahman Saheb Rizvi, Ghayaz Ahmed Akram, Chairman. Mysore District Wakf Advisory Committee who is also the convener of the Mysore District Moon committee and Muslim Co-Operative Bank Ltd Director Mohammed Abdus Salam were present in the meeting.
