Moily meets Chamaraja ticket aspirant Vasu

1 min read

Mysuru: In an attempt to iron out the differences, former chief minister and senior Congress leader M Veerappa Moily had a breakfast meeting with disgruntled Congress leader Vasu here on Saturday.

Senior leader, Vasu who is also a ticket aspirant from Chamaraja Assembly constituency, had been expecting a ticket to contest from Chamaraja Assembly constituency but in vain. Recently, his two sons joined BJP, apparently upset over the party’s stand to issue tickets to their father.

To arrest the situation, former Union minister Veerappa Moily called on Vasu and held discussion on various issues. Moily supported Vasu in his demand for the ticket from Chamaraja constituency. “My support is always there for the core Congress leaders. No one can stop tickets to deserving candidates. I am sure Vasu will get a ticket this time,” he added.

On CD row involving former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi, Moily said that KPCC President DK Shivakumar has no role in it and moreover, CBI will not entertain such personal matters.

He agreed that there were differences with party manifesto committee chairman G Parameshwar over some of the issues. But Parameshar has agreed to continue and a strong manifesto is being prepared under his guidance with regional prominence.
