Mobile app for publicity of 87th All India Kannada Literary Meet: MLA Darshan Puttannaiah

Mandya: MLA Darshan Puttannaiah, Chairman of Publicity Committee of 87th Akhila Bharata Kannada Sahitya Sammelan (All India Kannada Literary Meet) said that, a mobile app will be developed for the purpose of publicity and registration of names for the 87th All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan to be held in Mandya on December 20, 21 and 22.
He was speaking at the publicity committee meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office hall on Saturday.
A mobile app will be developed for members registration and publicity purpose, after discussing with Central Kannada Sahitya Parishat and Conference Registration Committee. In addition to this, five important sub-committees will be formed to work effectively with the Publicity Committee, he said.
Print Media Publicity Sub-Committee, Social Network Media Publicity Sub-Committee, Electronic Media Publicity Sub-Committee, Graphic Design Media Publicity Sub-Committee and Other Technologies Media Publicity Sub-Committees. Five members of the Publicity Committee will be appointed to each Sub-committee.
He said that the companies that will carry out the promotional work will be selected transparently without succumbing to any pressure.
He said that, in addition to holding regular meetings through Google Meet, meetings will be organised every Thursday at the DC’s office till the conference is over, to review the progress.
He said that, in order to speed up the publicity, essay and quiz competitions and Jatha Prabhatabheri programmes will be conducted in schools under the leadership of BEOs.
Journalist D N Sripad, who is a member of the committee suggested that the photos of Padma awardees litterateur P T Narasimhachar, Scientist Dr Rajaramanna, lexicographer Dr G Venkatasubbaiah and Srinivasan etc. should be used in the publicity of the literary meet.
He said that, a quiz competition should be conducted for the students to learn about the district and create awareness about Kannada language among them.
President of the Journalists’ Association B P Prakash said that, the journalists working in different media at the State level should be accommodated in the conference committee and seek their guidance. One or two journalists should be nominated to all the committees.
The members suggested that, the campaign could be carried out on FM radio and by screening of documentaries in theatres.
Convener of literary meet Dr Meera Shivalingaiah, Member Secretary Raghavendra, Convener and Assistant Director of Information and Publicity Relations Department S H Nirmala, Secretaries of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Dr Huskuru Krishna Gowda, Harsha V Pannedoddi, B M Appajappa, Dhananjaya, Chadrali Agu, K Shambhu Kabbanahalli, etc. were present in the meeting.
