2 min read

Mysuru: A virtual ventilator training program is being conducted exclusively for the students of Mysore Medical College & Research Institute (MMC&RI).

It is conducted by Philips India, the pioneers and world leaders in ventilators.

An initiative by Avyaya Medicon and BJP and RSS covid helpline team.

The training was conducted on May 17 and 19, with another session on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM virtually.

It is a known fact that there is an acute shortage of resources to manage the ICUs and ventilators. Aware of this fact Prashanth & Satish of Avyaya Medicon took the lead and approached Philips who in turn connected them with Philips Innovation Campus authorities.

They agreed to spare their expert resource at Philips India.

Dr Manjunath, Professor & HOD, Department of Anesthesia played a important role in talking to students from various departments and ensured the programme was rolled in a very quick time.

This training program covers various aspects of ventilators like Mechanical Ventilation, Alarms, Graphs, patient assessment before putting him on ventilator.

Post virtual training there will be hands on training for Post Graduates, MMBS Interns and Nurses at different levels, said Prashanth & Satish of Avyaya Medicon.

H V Rajiv Chairman of MUDA and Srivatsa Mysore City BJP president were instrumental in ensuring that this training was executed.

The present staff in ICU is working close to 18 hours a day. If the hospital and college utilise the resources who have undergone the training properly, this will help in operation of more ventilators and also ease the pressure on the current staff.

MMC&RI Anesthesia department head Manjunath thanked Philips India for coming forward to help them in this challenging times.

He also thanked BJP-RSS covid helpline, Prashanth & Satish of Avyaya Medicon who took this initiative.
