MLC Vishwanath’s son, ZP ex- member Amith Devarahatti denies land grabbing charges

Mysuru: Following the allegation of land encroachment, former ZP member Amith V Devarahatti on Sunday clarified that the property belongs to him and there is no foul play in it.
Amith is the son of BJP MLC A H Vishwanath.
Amith who addressed media persons at Jsladarshini Guest House in the city on Sunday, however alleged that, “In a hurry to to target my father, my name is being dragged into a land dispute.”
Amith claimed “it’s a conspiracy against my father MLC Vishwanath and a deliberate attempt to defame our family and hence my name is pulled into the issue.”
Referring to the land (Survey number 11/B) in question he had purchased in 2017 from Vaikuntachari at Hinkal and registered in his name to which he has paid property tax till 2019-2020, Amith said “It is purely a private land and we built a compound around the property. I only contacted previous DCP (law and order) Dr A N Prakash Gowda and they handed over the case to CCB and now it is in investigation stage.”
Yogish an unknown person claimed the ownership of the land. In this wake we presented our documents to the Police and they also referred to Hinkal PDO and Gram Panchayath, Amith said as to why the police have taken up the investigation.
“If I have encroached I am ready to clear it and concerned authority also has the rights to clear the encroachment. While an unknown person who is not related to property has made the allegations against me. They are all false,” Amith said.
