Mysuru: MLC A H Vishwanath reiterated his demand to withdraw SSLC examinations.

Vishwanath who addressed media persons on Sunday urged that the Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa should avoid putting students into hardship in the form of exams in the pandemic stage. The exams are scheduled on July 19 and 22.

“The threat over Coronavirus is yet to subside. What’s the urgency to conduct the examination? It will be challenging for backward class students, as in many places students didn’t even attend classes and are not aware of their syllabus too.”

Vishwanath alleged that the government is yet to provide digital facility like laptop and tab to each students to enable them to be a part of the learning system. The students are also yet to be vaccinated still in full strength.

Vishwanath wondered why the Primary and Secondary Education Minister S Suresh Kumar is showing negative gesture in managing the scenario related to SSLC exams.

Students are facing social pressure and undergoing various types of stress. The silence of education experts and retired vice- chancellors in this regard is also not accepted. They must raise their voice against examinations, Vishwanath urged.

Vishwanath also described the call given by KPCC President D K Shivakumar for old Congressmen to return to the party. While the stand of Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah doesn’t hold good because when he joined the Congress party nobody opposed and didn’t even make any comments, Vishwanath claimed.
