MLAs Tanveer Sait, Sa Ra Mahesh had received threat from Ravi Pujari

Mysuru: Following the arrest of fugitive underworld don Ravi Pujari, the investigation into alleged threat calls received by MLAs Tanveer Sait and Sa Ra Mahesh from Mysuru is likely to be taken up.

Sait who was Primary and Secondary Education Minister in Chief Minister Siddaramaiah cabinet had received calls from Pujari in January 2018. Mahesh a JD(S) MLA from K R Nagar had received the call in November 2017.

Sait had claimed that he had received SMSes and calls by Pujari who had placed a demand for Rs 10 crore.

Following the revelations made by Sait, who had complained to Siddaramaiah, then home minister R Ramalinga Reddy and DG and IGP Neelamani Raju, the police had enhanced his security.

Mahesh had been allegedly warned against contesting Assembly elections in 2018. A complaint in this regard had been lodged at Lakshmipuram police station.

Pujari who was wanted in several cases was arrested in South Africa on February 23. He was brought to Bengaluru later and taken to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
