MLA Manjunath raises tiger killings in House

Bengaluru: Death of two persons by a tiger reverberated in the State Assembly on Monday. Hunsur MLA HP Manjunath raised the issue at the House and blamed the forest officials for their negligence that led to the death of two persons.

In the last 24hours, an 18-year-old boy and a septuagenarian were killed by a tiger in the region sending shockwave among the people here. Wife of 75-year-old Raju is still in a state of shock and has been hospitalized.

Raising the issue, legislator Manjunath said that forest officials never turn up whenever we call them. But this has proved costly to those living on the forest fringes, he observed.

Law and Forest in-Charge Minister JC Madhuswamy replied that his ministry will look into these complaints and will take action against if any officer is found negligent.
