Minister Zameer Khan instructs Madrasas to make Kannada mandatory

Mysuru: Minority Welfare Minister B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan has directed Madrasas in the State to teach Kannada mandatorily. Apart from Kannada, he has also instructed the Madrasas to teach science, mathematics and English to the students.

Chairing a meeting at the directorate of Minorities Welfare here on Monday, he directed the officials to send a detailed proposal to have Kannada in Madrasas from the next academic year.

So far, there are 1,265 Madrasas registerd with the Wakf Bard and the officials have been instructed to teach Kannada on an experiment basis. However, they have been asked to make it mandatory from next year.

Minister Zameer Ahmed who was brutally trolled for taking oath in English during the oath taking ceremony of Congress ministers is now being appreciated. Several took to the social media platforms to laud the minister’s initiative. They hoped that this would not just remain on the paper.
