Minister takes excise officer to task

Mysuru: Tourism and sericulture Minister Sa Ra Mahesh on Saturday took excise officer to task.

The minister was addressing the gathering after his overnight village stay at the house of Umesh at Bettahalli at K R Nagar taluk in the district.

Participating in Janaspandana programme at Maluganahalli, Mahesh learnt about unabated sales of illicit liquor. He warned to initiate disciplinary action against the excise officer Ramya. As the excise officer had turned up late for the meeting, he warned to shunt her out if she continued to be callous.

The minister told the gathering about plans to open a residential school near to Bettahalli village at the estimated cost of Rs 20 crore and repair works of road at the cost of Rs six crore and a community hall at Rs 64 lakh.

The minister also directed the officials to take all the benefits to the doorsteps of the people and ensure none of them are deprived of social pension schemes.

The minister received grievances from the villagers at Shiginavalu and Kalammana Koppal villages and directed the officials to redress them in time.

MUDA Chairman N R Vijay, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar, Zilla Panchayat CEO K Jyoti, SP Amit Singh,  ASP Kshama Mitra and tahsildar Manjula were present.
