Midnight wonder! 300 Brahma Kamal flowers beckon many at Ramakrishna Nagar

Mysuru: Hundreds of Brahma Kamala flowers bloomed at midnight in the City of Palaces.

Brahma Kamala is an unique flower species. The fragrance of the flower is so unique. It blooms only at midnight and only once in a year. 
On Saturday night, the flowers bloomed at the house of Pattabhi Ramachandra at Ramakrishna Nagar. It’s not just one or two, nearly 300 flowers bloomed at a time, attracting the locals.
It truly makes for a rare visual treat.
Brahma Kamala (Saussurea Obvallata) is a species of flowering plant in the Asteraceae. It is native to the Himalayas, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, India, Mongolian, northern Burma and southwest China. In the Himalayas, it is found at an altitude of around 4500 metres.
