MGP meeting with KSRTC on handling congestion at Suburban Bus Stand

1 min read
Mysuru: As a result of continuing to suffer unmanageable traffic congestion in Mysuru’s suburban bus stand, KSRTC has suggested the use of part of the space belonging to nearby People’s park.

Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) is appreciative of such a consumer friendly proactive step.

While the last Mysuru Master Plan was being developed in 2012 (it was finally approved after a long period in 2016), MGP had strongly urged the planners (mostly MUDA authorities) to study the traffic situation of Central Business District (CBD) to take care of such problems. CBD consists of suburban and city bus stands.

MGP had suggested that special task force consisting of representatives from railways, KSRTC, POLICE, MCC, Chamber of Commerce, Industry associations, and NGOs and experts should be constituted to study to develop timely solution. In fact MGP organised a meeting at Administrative Training Institute (ATI) calling all these stakeholders.

Time has come again to plan for such an initiative. When MGP contacted Srinivas, the Divisional Controller of KSRTC, he readily agreed to have a meeting.

A public meeting has been organized by MGP on November at 4 PM. All those who are interested to contribute to this important topic are invited to attend.

Meeting Venue is 6/1 Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri, Mysuru. Contact number 0821-2515150.
