MGP collects 300 signatures against feeding dogs, pigeons at Kukkarahalli lake

Mysuru: Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) volunteers went to Kukkarhalli lake on Saturday morning at 6.30 am and collected about 300 signatures to ban the feeding of dogs and pigeons there. No more than 6 or 8 signed in favour of supporting feeding.
This is a random sampling in every aspect of the population. Only few were regular walkers. This shows that majority (95%) are supporting the original position of the Vice-chancellor of University of Mysore on banning feeding of stray dogs and pigeons.

“We also came across some one who had been bitten by a dog and had to take shots. See her photo above. We wanted to record her opinion. But she was not in favour. With such overwhelming support to ban feeding, how can political pressure from miniscule minority influenced wrongly by the notion of ‘cruelty against animals act’. How can University bow down? Science is on their side.
University should restore the ban on feeding dogs immediately knowing fully well that 95% will support them. We will continue our signature campaign tomorrow. Come at 6.30 AM and let us celebrate Republic Day by contributing to Mysur’s iconic Kukkarhalli Lake, states a release by MGP.
