Mysuru: With a greater awareness on the need to protect the environment, most of us are aware of the need to ensure that the air we breathe has minimal amount of pollutants.
Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) has organised a meeting on April 13 at 4 pm at its premises at No 6/1, Vivekananda Road, Yadavagiri in the city.
Over the years, we have enough number of environment laws on books to regulate emissions from our autos, cars, buses and trucks.
There were even times, NGOs had protested to ensure the implementation of these laws. However over the years, there has been a less interest to monitor the air pollution caused by vehicles both on the part of the officials and the public.
Since such pollution affects health only after a long time in most cases, we have been ignoring the health hazards. However there are some who are affected by polluted air. But they do not get involved.
Before the pollution reaches the tipping point, we need to take action.
MGP has invited concerned officials to discuss the current state of vehicular pollution and the action to be taken.
They are: Ramachandra, Regional Transport Officer, Manohar, RTO West and Anil, Motor Vehicle Inspector.
Contact MGP on 0821-2515150.
