Mentally unsound girl raped in Nanjangud

Nanjangud: A mentally unsound girl was allegedly raped when her mother was away on work in Madarahalli village, Nanjangud taluk on Monday.
It is said that accused Girish allegedly raped the girl as she was alone at her home. The accused escaped when girl’s mother was returning home. Her mother, a widow, works as a daily wage labourer.
The girl is being treated at a hospital.
Kavalande police have registered a case in this regard.
