Melange of attractions await people at Suttur Fair

Mysuru: Exhibition on agriculture, wrestling tournament, street play, boating, cattle fair, mass wedding, on the spot drawing competition and so on.

These are the few among many attractions that are planned for six-day Adi Jagadguru Sri Shivaratri Shivayogi Jatra Mahotsav (Suttur Fair) that will take off from January 21 and concludes on January 26, Secretary of JSS Mahavidyapeeth S P Manjunath on January 17.

On January 21, Veerabhadreshwara Kondotsava is organised, followed by Rathotsava on January 23, Mahadeshwara Kondotsava on January 24, Teppotsava on January 25, followed by Laksha Deepotsava, Halaravi Utsava and other cultural and traditional programmes.

The jatra coincides with 28th State- level Bhajan Mahotsav where artistes from within and outside the State will take part. The exhibition will showcase over 200 models related to science and education by the students of JSS High Schools, followed by self- help groups, Industries, handloom, powerloom, handicrafts and other products.

Krishi Mela will highlight technological incorporation in farming, along with tips on total crop management, demo of crops, farm equipment, demonstration on growing paddy using drip irrigation method, exhibition of Siri Dhanya crops, cattle- rearing, sheep- rearing, dairy farming, poultry rearing and others.

Mass marriage is organised on January 22, where brides and grooms irrespective of caste and community will be entering wedlock. The religious heads irrespective of community are also invited.

On January 24, quiz competition on life and messages of Mahatma Gandhi is organised, followed by cancer check up camp.

Daily at 6.30 am, mass Yogasana will be performed by the students of JSS Schools, followed by Shiva Deeskshe for interested persons on January 22.

A conference of old inmates of JSS Hostels is on January 25.
