Mekedatu Padayatra: D K Shivakumar, Siddaramaiah among 30 booked in FIR at Sathanur police station

Bengaluru: First information report (FIR) has been filed against 30 people including KPCC President D K Shivakumar, Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah at Sathanur police station.
Sathanur police station is in Kanakapura taluk in Ramnagar district.
The FIR has been registered for violating the norms related to Weekend Curfew by taking out Mekedatu Padayatra from Sangama to Doddalahalli in Ramanagar district on Sunday.
Owing to Covid crises State Government had imposed Weekend Curfew from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am.
The case has been booked under IPC sections- 141 ( to do what is not legally allowed), 143 ( unlawful assembly of people), 290 ( public nuisance) and 336 (rash or negligent act so as to endanger human life).
