Meet the ‘Robin’ of cricket in Mysuru

Mysuru: Suresh M R is another popular name in Mysuru cricket circle. Nicknamed Robin, his passion for the game made him acquire multifaceted skills.

Known for his wicket keeping and batsmanship in his hey years in cricket, Suresh played for National Cricket Club Not to forget, he was trained under the watchful eyes of late V Prabhakar.

Suresh was felicitated by Navodaya Cricket Club the hosts of V Prabhakar Memorial Legends Cricket Tournament on Saturday.

Suresh represented Mysuru Zone and Mysore University cricket teams.

However he was one of the most popular tennis ball cricket players and played for Lakshmipuram Cricket Club (LCC) in several state level tournaments for over 40 years.

He also does umpiring and doubles up as a commentator which took him to All India Radio (AIR) for India V/s England match played at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

He is serving KSCA – Mysuru Zone in various vapacities and involved in the development of cricket.

He works as COO at Mysuru’s very own Rangarao & Sons and is also the Manager for Mysuru Warriors team in KPL tournament.

Suresh also captained VP Royals team at V Prabhakar Memorial Legends Cricket Tournament that lifted Runner’s Up trophy in the finals on Sunday.
