MCC ward 36 bypoll! Licenced weapons must be deposited at Alanahalli police station

Mysuru: In the wake of by-election announced to Ward 36 of Yaraganahalli on September 3, those possessing licenced weapons are hereby directed to deposit them in jurisdictional Alanahalli police station.
According to a press release from Police Commissioner’s office, it is stated that “the order has been issued to deposit the arms to ensure peace and prevent untoward incidents till the election is over.”
Under section 144 CrPC 1973 and Weapons Act 1979, police commissioner has issued the order prohibiting the use any weapon, explosives and weapons in Alanahalli police station limits till the by-poll process is over. Hence the the licenced weapon holders are ordered to deposit them at Alanahalli police station.
