MCC must rectify online property tax payment issues: AAP

1 min read

Mysuru: Mysureans who wish to avail five per cent rebate on property tax during the month of April, are being harassed due to problems with the tax software, according to Aam Admi Party (AAP).

Though everyone knows that taxes have been hiked by 15 per cent this year, many are complaining that their tax dues for this year is showing 50-60% increase over previous year whereas some others are happy that their tax liability in the challan is showing less this year.

While doing a door-to-door meeting with residents in Vijayanagar locality, volunteers of Aam Aadmi Party checked the online details, challans, receipts and expressed their dismay. Perhaps it also includes vacant site cleaning charges or previous arrears not shown in the details column wondered some tax payers.

AAP District Convener Malavika Gubbivani has urged the MCC commissioner to clarify on this problem and rectify the same at the earliest. While MCC problem is perhaps of software, MUDA online tax system is yet to take off and a “site under upgradation” board welcomes their website.
