MCC hikes health cover of Mysuru journalists to Rs 50 lakh

Mysuru: The Mysuru City Corporation has increased the health assistance fund to Rs 50 lakh to journalists working in the City, during its budget meeting on Monday. With a view to extend financial help for better health of journalists, the Civic body has made this decision.

Earlier, the monetary assistance for journalists’ health was earmarked at Rs 25 lakh during 2021-22. However, with sustained efforts to increase the package by the MDJA oresident S T Ravikumar, it has been made possible today for the tear 2022-23.

During 2021-22, about 22 journalists had availed Rs 4.84.977 lakh towards their health expenses.
MDJA president Ravikumar and office-bearers have expressed their gratitude to Mayor Shivakumar, finance standing committee Chairman M D Nagaraj, Commissioner Laxmikanth Reddy for their decision.
