MCC Commissioner Shilpa Nag calls it quits! MLA S A Ramadass writes to PM Modi

Mysuru: Following the resignation announced by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shilpa Nag, former minister and MLA S A Ramadass has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The copies of the letter are also marked to Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and chief secretary to the government. 

The content of the letter is as follows- With reference to the above, it is brought to your kind notice that Shilpa Nag, IAS, Commissioner, Mysore City Corporation, Mysore after assuming charge in the month of March 2021 has done tremendous job in handling Covid-19 and maintaining Covid Management System in the City of Mysore.

It is respectfully brought to your kind attention that Shilpa Nag
beyond her personal and professional limitations and that to with the short period of around three months. She has taken many initiatives namely Covid Mithra Concept, Tele Medicine Concept, Constituting Mysore Covid Task Force Team in each Assembly segments, conducting door to door Covid-19 survey in the city of Mysore for identifying infected people for quick treatment and redressal etc. She has almost completed door to door Covid-19 survey within the stipulated time which has given good results in controlling Covid-19 in the city of Mysore.

As an IAS officer and Commissioner of Mysore City Corporation, Mysore she displayed and demonstrated high quality leadership skills in not only motivating her subordinate officers but as well taken Political representatives into confidence, at the same time inspiring the general public for working and to co-operate for the cause of fight against Covid-19.

In this background, it is learnt that she has resigned for the post of Commissioner,
Mysore City Corporation, Mysore and as well for the post of Indian Administrative Service because of humiliation she suffered in the hands of present Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore. Whereas it is the well known fact that the present Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore is known for her high headedness, rude, adamant and dominating
behaviour. It has been experienced by all the officers, Political Representatives, Doctors, General Public and one and all regarding her attitude and rude behavior in insulting and targeting officers, doctors and subordinate staffs who are actually working 24×7 for the cause of fight against Covid-19 in Mysore District.

It has come in the media that Shilpa Nag, IAS, Commissioner, Mysore City
Corporation, Mysore has announced her decision to resign for the post of Commissioner, Mysore City Corporation, Mysore and as well for the post of IAS through a press Conference held at Mysore today evening. Her resignation is addressed to Chief Secretary, Govt. of Karnataka, Bangalore.

In her press conference she has clarified that she is resigning because of the humiliation and harassement that she is subjected to by the Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore Smt. Rohini Sindhuri, IAS.

The kind of Shilpa Nag leadership is required for handling Covid-19 in Mysore
City in the current crucial time. The higher authority like Deputy Commissioner, Mysore
District, Mysore shall inspire and take into confidence her subordinate authorities in
handling the current pandemic crisis. However, Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore attitude is collapsing Covid-19 management system at Mysore District and as well leading to resignation of honest and committed officers like Shilpa Nag. If the proper action is not taken against the present Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore her high headedness and adamant attitude would further collapse the administrative system and demoralize dedicated officers, doctors and subordinate staffs in the system.

Therefore, it is humbly requested before your kindself to direct the Hon’ble Chief
Minister of Karnataka and also to the Chief Secretary of Karnataka not to accept the
resignation of Shilpa Nag, IAS for the post of Commissioner, Mysore City Corporation, Mysore and as well for the post of IAS in the public interest and also requested to take proper and appropriate action against the present Deputy Commissioner, Mysore District, Mysore in the interest of Justice.
