Mayor along with councilors visit stray dog rescue centre

Mysuru: Following complaints of stray dog menace in the City, the Mysore City Corporation has set up a rescue centre to shift such canines near Rayanakere, on the outskirts of the City.
Mayor Shivakumar along with the councillors visited the rescue centre on Thursday. Works on the centre is nearing completion and it will be soon opened to shelter stray dogs. The Centre will have a veterinarian to treat dogs that need medical attention, said Mayor Shivakumar.
When reporters asked him about the next mayor election, Mayor Shivakumar said that his term will end on September 5 and it is left to the government to hold elections or not. He further said that he will not appeal for his extension.
