Mask up again! CM Basavaraj Bommai chairs emergency meeting to review Covid situation, lists safety norms

Bengaluru: In view of the possibilities of Covid fourth wave, State  Government has again made wearing of mask mandatory along with maintenance of social distance.

Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who presided over a meeting of his cabinet ministers, Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) chairman Sudarshan and other TAC members resolved to resume the precautions as a preventive measure.

Ahead of the meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai convened the emergency meeting to review the Covid situation in the State.

Bommai told media persons “The central government has already issued an alert. A slight increase in cases has been recorded in Kerala and Maharashtra in the last 8-10 days. Based on the experience of the last three waves, experts too have suggested suitable precautionary measures”.

Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar also said “mask has been made mandatory in Karnataka due to the high alert in many states. The mandatory mask norm will be reinforced across the state from Wednesday (April 27). There are serious monitoring at Airports and each individuals who arriving from Covid risk countries are being screened”, Dr Sudhakar added.

Work from home mode

Due to the fourth wave of Covid pandemic, IT sector and companies which had earlier invited employees to return to office may switch back to work from home mode.
