Mangaluru Cooperatives reward Mysuru police with Rs two lakh

Mysuru: Following the successful cracking of two cases- gang rape and shoot out in Vidyaranyapuram, that had hogged limelight, Mysuru police are coming under appreciation from several quarters.
On Tuesday, Cooperatives honoured Mysuru City Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta and team for the feat that reposed faith in policing and upheld the spirit of men in khaki, at Jaladarshini Guest House.
District incharge and Cooperation Minister S T Somashekar handed over a cheque for Rs two lakh to City Police Commissioner Dr Chandragupta and DCP (Law and order) Pradeep Gunti.
Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, Chairman of Federation of State Cooperative Societies and Mangaluru Navodaya Grama Vikasa Charitable Trust, who had appreciated the City Police for cracking Vidyaranyapuram shootout case and gang rape case at Lalithadripura, had announced the cash prize for the police.
Somashekar said “nobody can escape from the police. Mysuru police are always alert. The two cases though appeared challenging initially, was cracked within a couple of days with the police tracing the accused and arresting them. Once again, the City police proved that Mysuru is safe and there is nothing to panic,” added Somashekar.
Directors of the federation Y N Shankaregowda and R Jayaram, Dakshina Kannada District Central Cooperative Bank directors Devi Prasad Shetty, Raj Poojari, Ashok Shetty, Shashikumar Rai, Mahesh Hegde, Sadashiv Ullal and Jayaprakash Tumbe, S S Mahesh (cable) and E C Ningaraj Gowda were present.
