Mysuru: As the police tighten rules to check the movement of people, a norm to prevent the spread of Covid-19, some are resorting to hoodwink men in khaki, using all their smartness, but in vain.
N R police have booked a case and seized a car and cellphone used to fake Covid-19 pass.
The police were on routine inspection at fountain Circle on Wednesday, when they stopped a Toyota Etios car ( KA-02 MG- 0661) with a pass on the wind screen. The driver at wheels was identified as Nirmal Kumar Singhvi, aged 57 years, resident of Kesare third stage, R S Naidu Nagar in the city.
Singhvi told the police that he had duplicated the pass using the image sent by his friend on WhatsApp. It was printed in colour. Singhvi wanted to go to his sister’s house in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and hence duplicated the pass for easy travel to reach the destination.
Inspector G Shekar and his staff cracked the illegality under the guidance of DCP (law and order) Dr A N Prakash Gowda and ACP Shivashankar.
