Man stops for mobile currency; loses Rs one lakh

Mysuru: A man stopped at a shop in Yelwal to recharge his cell phone currency. But, when he returned home, he had lost Rs one lakh.
Basavaraju of Megalapura village had gone to Canara Bank and withdrew Rs one lakh from his account. He kept the wad of notes in the luggage space beneath the seat. He later stopped at Chetan Mobile shop on Hunsur road to top up his cell phone currency. He later went home and checked the luggage space, but the money was missing.
Shocked, Basavaraju came near the shop and checked the CCTV footage.
Five strangers who surrounded his vehicle, had lifted the amount from the luggage space.
Yelwal police are investigating the case.
