Man convicted under POCSO Act gets seven years rigorous imprisonment

Mandya: A rape convict has been sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 60,000.
Judge Shabana Begum of Belakavadi Fast Track Court awarded the imprisonment under various sections of IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012.
The convict identified as Rahul had sexually assaulted the girl after threatening her.
According to the judgment the convict was sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 50,000 under section 4 of POCSO Act and two years rigorous imprisonment and Rs 10,000 fine under IPC 366, stated a release by public prosecutor of first additional district and sessions court.
