Mahisha Utsava: Dalit organisations take out bike rally to Town Hall

Mysuru: Several Dalit organisations took out a bike rally from Ashokapuram to Town Hall in the city on Friday, where Mahisha Utsava has been organised by Mahisha Dasara Celebration Committee.
Despite restrictions imposed by Police on bike rallies, dalit associations members carried out the rally, displaying Mahisha posters.
The rally route included Ashoka Circle, Ramaswamy Circle, Chamaraja Double Road, New Sayyaji Rao Road, KR Circle, Tenth Chamarajendra Wadiyar Circle, before culminating at Town Hall.
During the Mahisha Utsava celebration, participants held Blue Flags and raised “Jai Bhim” slogans. They also offered flower garlands at the Dr B R Ambedkar Statue before proceeding to the town hall stage function.
City Police have made elaborate security arrangements along the Chamundi Hills Road and near Town Hall.
