Mysuru: Mysuru district Congress committee has sought the intervention of deputy commissioner in the matter of Mahisha Dasara that has snowballed into a major controversy.
Congress rural president Dr B J Vijaykumar has demanded the district administration to convene a meeting of the warring parties before October 2. Or else, the Congress will announce its stand.
Mahisha Dasara was being celebrated in a peaceful manner all these years. But, Mysuru- Kodagu MP Prathap Simha has converted it into a major issue by giving a communal colour to Dasara.
Besides preventing the celebration of Mahisha Dasara, Simha has insulted two IPS rank officers. To put an end to the row, a meeting should be arranged between Simha and Mahisha Dasara organisers, urged Vijaykumar.
Congress city president R Murthy, spokesperson M Lakshmana, advocate Manjula Manasa were present at the press meet.
