Mahisha Dasara: City Police issue prohibitory orders from today midnight

Mysuru: Police Commissioner has clamped prohibitory orders under Section 163 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS)-2023 at Chamundi Hill on the eve of Mahisha Dasara celebrations.
Police Commissioner Seema Latkar has ordered the Section 163 of BNSS to maintain law and order in view of the public safety. The restrictions will apply within the Mysuru Police Commissionerate limits, including Chamundi Hill, excluding the Town Hall premises. The order will be effective from midnight of September 28 until 6 AM of September 30.
The Mahisha Dasara Organising Committee, led by former mayor Purushotham, was planning a procession and floral offerings at the statue of Mahishasura atop Chamundi Hill on September 29 at 10.30 am. Based on a report submitted by ACP of Krishnaraja Sub-Dvision, the Commissioner ordered to enforce the restrictions.
The order restricts any procession in favour of Mahisha Mandalotsava or Mahisha Dasara or against the event, rally, bike rally, raising of slogans, gathering of five and above people, public meeting or any type of publicity.
