‘Maharajara Maana Ulisi’! Prof Nanjaraje Urs plans campaign against Sir MV’s statue at KRS dam

Mysuru: A proposal to erect celebrated engineer Sir M Visvesvaraya’s statue along with ‘Rajarshi’ Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar at Krishna Raja Sagar reservoir has sparked a hot debate led by historian Prof PV Nanjaraje Urs.
The historian has strongly opposed the government’s move and has warned to protest against the same on June 8 near DC office.
On Thursday, Prof Nanjaraje Urs met some like-minded people along with a few organisation leaders at Jaladarshini Guest House and decided to hold a mega protest against installation of Sir MV’s statue along with the erstwhile king.
Prof Urs further mentioned that he would also carry out a campaign, “Maharajara Maana Ulisi (Save the King’s honour) through phamphlets.
Members of Dalit organisations and Ursu Mandali were present. present.
