Mahajana’s educational Institutions president R Vasudevamurthy no more

Mysuru: R Vasudevamurthy president of Governing Council of Mahajana Education Society (MES) passed away on Tuesday. He was 91.
According to the sources close to the family, Vasudevamurthy died of of age related illness.
The mortal remains has been kept at his flat near Panchavati Circle in Jayalakshmipuram. The last rites will be performed at 5 pm.
Vasudevamurthy was the son of known philanthropist and businessman Rattehalli Ramappa hailing from Sagar in Shivamogga. The family was into various businesses like oil mills, rice mills and theatre, before turning into educational iinsitutions.
The family also owns Prabha theatre on Old Bank road in the city.
Vasudevamurthy’s son R Ganesh predeceased him several years ago.
He is survived by wife Saraswati, daughter Vijayalakshmi Bhagawat, a large number of relatives and friends.
