LS poll mandate is for centre: Parameshwar

1 min read

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Friday said ‘the results of Lok Sabha election announced on Thursday will not have any bearing on the State coalition government. The mandate is to elect the central government’.

In his first media briefing after Congress party’s poor show in the election, Parameshwara said ‘the coalition government will complete its five year term. However, the efforts are being made by the opposition party BJP to topple the government’.

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy who was flanking his deputy throughout the media briefing continued to remain miffed with media. He did not address media.

Earlier he had convened a cabinet meeting at his home office, though an informal one, only to discuss the failure of the government in stopping BJP in the election.
