Lokyukta raids in Nanjangud, Tumakuru and Kalaburagi

Kalaburagi: Lokayukta officials have launched raids at several locations in the State on Wednesday following complaints of corruption.

In Mysuru, they raided Mysuru City Corporation Superintending Engineer Mahesh Kumar at his residence in Niveditha Nagar following complaints that he had allegedly amassed wealth disproportionate to his income.

A similar raid was also conducted on Nanjangud taluk sub-registrar Shivashankar Murthy, Mysuru Urban Development Authority Engineer and Chief Audit Officer Nagesh too were raided on Wednesday.

In Kalaburagi, a raid was conducted on the residence of Kalaburagi KRIDL in-charge joint director Jharanappa Chincholikar which is under construction.

About 10 officers are probing the documents of his properties including his house that is under-construction. Jharanappa who is also an executive engineer at KRIDL has been accused of building his house with expensive granites sourced from Gujarat. The officials are ascertaining its value.

In Tumakuru too, Lokayukta officials raided KIADB officer Narasimhamurthy’s residence at R T Nagar.
