Upa Lokayukta lodges suo motu complaint against DHO, Superintendents of KR Hospital, Cheluvamba Hospital and others

Mysuru: Upa Lokayukta KM Phaneendra has lodged a suo motu complaint against the District Health Officer, KR Hospital Medical Superintendent, Cheluvamba Hospital Superintendent and another officer for alleged dereliction of duty in both KR Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital.
During his inspection of KR Hospital and Cheluvamba Hospital from June 17 and June 19, Lokayukta Justice K N Phanindra had taken to doctors on duty for alleged mismanagement of both the hospitals that includes lack of cleanliness and absolute poor administration.
The Lokayukta had observed that the hospitals were poorly maintained. He had also noticed that there was poor management in the outpatient department, patients were asked to buy medicines from outside. In fact, there were no proper toilet facilities for the scores of patients who visit the hospital.
Following his observation, the Lokayukta has lodged a case against DHO Dr K H Prasad, KR Hospital Superintendent Dr Nanjudaswamy, Resident doctor Dr Rajesh Kumar, Cheluvamba Hospital superintendent Dr Rajendra Kumar and Dr Shivaram Krishna for alleged dereliction of duty.
He has also directed the hospital to reimburse the amount that the patients have spent on treatment at private hospitals.
He has directed KR Hospital superintendent Dr Dakshyaini to submit a report in this regard.
