Leopards death! Mystery deepens, as forest personnel smell something fishy

Mysuru: Amidst the mystery surrounding the death of three leopards at a private land near Belavadi lake, there appears to be something fishy.
According to the forest personnel who visited the spot, a carcass of half devoured dog is found on the spot. The dog’s carcass with laced with insecticide, giving room for suspicion that it’s not a case of natural death.
It remains to be unearthed with the investigation underway.
According to forest sources, the leopards- two female and one male are aged about four to five years and eight to 10 months respectively, as found during the visit of DCF K C Prashanth Kumar.
The veterinarians of Mysuru zoo and from Hinkal conducted autopsy and collected the samples of viscera. The viscera is sent to Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biologicals ( IAHVB), Hebbal, Bengaluru and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in the city. The reason for death can be ascertained on the basis of lab reports.
On the other hand, water samples have been collected from Belavadi lake and sent to Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) in the city.
Rana the sniffer dog of Bandipur National Park and sniffer squad of district police were also summoned the spot.
Chief Conservator of Forest T Hiralal, DCF Poovaiah, honorary wildlife wardens Kruthika Alanahalli and Poorvaj Vishwanath, ACF Rangaswamy and RFO Girish visited the spot.
