Mysuru: Mysuru- Kodagu MP Pratap Simha has written to the vice-chancellor of University of Mysore pointing at the serious lapses on the part of the varsity in recent K-SET exams.

Simha has urged the varsity to either issue clarification or conduct re-exams or probe into the irregularities related to K-SET and recruitment of over 400 ‘D’ group workers in the last two years without conducting any process.
Simha in his detailed letter of six pages to the University has urged to take action against major loopholes in KSET examination which was held on July 25 across the state.
Simha along with evidence claimed that 17 temporary key answers of History paper released by the varsity are false. As the University has fixed a fee of Rs 1000 for objection to each key answers, with the motive of stopping students from raising any objection, Simha explained.
Even the candidates have alleged about lack of security at the room where answer scripts are deposited and also evaluation which are not under CCTV surveillance. Hence all the CCTV cameras must be restored. Earlier, there was a supervisory committee to look into the nitty-gritty of K-SET exams. However, in the current scenario the committee ceases to exist. In the coming days, the committee should be reconstituted.
Like NET, most of the students opt for K-SET to shape a career. The University of Mysore is tasked with the responsibility of conducting the exam.
It should not become another Karnataka State Open University (KSOU). The varsity authorities should strive to keep the faith of the students, Simha added.
