Land for Jindal: BJP to protest from June 13

Bengaluru: BJP will be launching a three day protest from June 13 in Bengaluru to protest the decision of the State Government to sell land for Jindal Company in Ballari district.

According to the decisions taken during the meeting of legislature party meeting held on Wednesday, it was resolved under the leadership of party president and opposition leader in legislative assembly B S Yeddyurappa to demand the government to withdraw the land allotted to Jindal.

Jindal still owes to the government and the latter has decided to sell over 3,600 acres of land to them through a sale deed. Its a controversial decision of the government, it was discussed during the meeting.

The government’s failure to handle drought situation in the State will also be opposed during the protest, BJP general secretary Aravinda Limbavali told media.

Both MLAs and MLCs of the party are hereby instructed to take part in the protest.

To study the drought situation on ground Yeddyurappa will taking out a tour from June 7 for a period of three days. The tour will start from Badami in Bagalkot district at 11 am, followed by Hungund at 3 pm. June 8- Koppal and Lingasagur. June 9-Yadgir and Gurumitkal.

Yeddyurappa will also study the stock of animal feed and progress under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ( MGNREGA).
