KUWJ donates Rs one lakh to deceased scribe’s family

Tumakuru: Karnataka Union of Working Journalists ( KUWJ) has donated Rs one lakh to the family members of deceased journalist Halli Suresh.
Suresh who was the stringer for Prajavani in Tiptur had committed suicide due to ill health.
KUWJ President Shivanad Tagadur handed over the cheque to Suresh’s wife Kala.
The amount was collected from the generous donations of Tumakuru District Working Journalists Association, Tiptur Taluk Working Journalists Association and KUWJ, Bengaluru and Vijaya Karnataka newspaper staffers.
Suresh was employed with Vijaya Karnataka before joining Prajavani.
Before that a condolence meeting was held at Tiptur.
The Journalists went to the house of Suresh at Melanahalli and consoled the family members before handing over the cheque.
