KUWJ announces annual awards for journos

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Union of Working Journalists, on Wednesday, announced annual awards in various categories. The award presentation will be held at Vijayapura at the 37th State-level Journalists’ convention.
Digital media journalists Vijayalakshmi Shibarur of ‘Vijaya Times’ will be presented with BS Venkatram Award for best scoop. G Mahantesh from ‘The Files’ will be awarded for the best investigative report and HG Shantinath from ‘ETV Bharath’ won the annual awards.
There are a few journalists from Mysuru who have won the award. They include: ‘Udayavani’ Senior Journalist Kudli Gururaj will be presented with Khadri Shamanna award for best reporting in (Politics); Avinash Jainahalli will be honoured with Nettakallppa award (Sports); SS Sachit (Wildlife); LS Srikanth (Scoop) and MN Lakshminarayana Yadav (Photojournalism).
