Bengaluru: In a significant meeting with key party leaders, Union Minister and State President of JD(S), H D Kumaraswamy, held detailed discussions on strengthening the JD(S) in Bengaluru metropolitan region, preparing for the upcoming Taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections, and planning sustained mass movements against the anti-people Congress government.

At a meeting held with party leaders at his J P Nagar residence, the Union Minister discussed major organisational matters including the replacement of inactive district presidents, filling vacant district president posts, and the progress of membership registration drives.

He gave firm instructions to the party leaders to organise state-wide protests against the misgovernance of the Congress government in Karnataka.

Protest on issues affecting people”

Kumaraswamy urged leaders to spearhead protests on issues such as hike in electricity tariffs, water supply problems, rising bus fares, and the increase in prices of milk, curd, and diesel.

“Standing by the people in their hardship is our foremost duty—no one must forget this,” he asserted.

Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy to tour 15 districts

The Minister informed leaders that he will embark on a tour across 15 districts beginning with the Old Mysuru region to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

“I will dedicate a full day to each district, spending time with party workers and leaders, listening directly to their grievances, and resolving them. The tour schedule will be finalised soon,” he told the gathering.

“I am trying to make the best use of the opportunity given to me in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Cabinet. I’m striving to do meaningful work in line with the PM’s expectations, and despite my responsibilities at the Centre, I am ensuring time for party organisation. I will meet every worker and every leader,” Kumaraswamy assured.

“Reinforce even those who polled 40,000 to 50,000 votes”

“I will instil strength in candidates who polled 40,000 to 50,000 votes. I will prepare them for the next election. I will do whatever is needed to strengthen the party at the grassroots,” he said, adding, “JD(S) is indispensable in Karnataka. Our stand must always be with the common people.”

He directed party workers to gear up immediately for the Taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections.

“Identify and list the constituencies where we are likely to win. Give special focus to Zilla Panchayat segments. I am ready to work day and night. You must work with the same dedication,” he said in strong words.

“Give priority to youth”

Kumaraswamy emphasised the need to promote and involve more youth in the organisation. “How will you build the party without youth? Mentor them, involve them in organisational activities,” he advised the leaders.
