Kukkarahalli Lake cleaning drive by MCC yields 521 kgs of plastic

Mysuru: About 521 kgs of single used plastic were collected during the cleaning drive held at Kukkarahalli Lake premises in the city on Sunday.
The Kukkarahalli lake cleaning activity was organised by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC). Around 500 volunteers from different institutions like NIE college, Vidyavardhaka College, MMC and RI Maharaja and Yuvaraja’s colleges, Clean Mysuru Foundation and Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP), NSS volunteers, scouts and guides, were present in the cleaning activity.
Around 521 kgs of single use plastic were collected by the team headed by MCC Commissioner Shaikh Tanveer Asif.
MCC Zonal Commissioners, AEEs, Environment Engineers and Health inspectors were present.
