KSOU distributes face masks to public, vendors at M G road market

Mysuru: Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has continued to join hands in the fight against deadly Covid-19.

On Thursday morning KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof M N Vidyashankar, Registrar A Khadar Pasha and Coordinator of KSOU Competitive Exams Coaching Centre Jainahalli Sathyanarayan Gowda distributed about 2000 face masks to public and vendors at the vegetable market on MG Road.

KSOU Vice Chancellor MN Vidyashankar told Mysoorunews.com “This is a critical situation as the pandemic is causing a biggest humanitarian crisis. We have taken a stand to fight against Corona from the front. Our infrastructures in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar and Chikkamagalur have been provided to be used as Covid-19 hospitals. In Mysuru alone (at Madakalli Covid Care Centre) there are 650 beds, while Chamarajanagar and Chikkamagalur hospitals are equipped with 100 beds. We also spreading the message among student fraternity to protect themselves from Covid-19, he said.

Around 60,000 students are studying in KSOU and we are educating them on safety measures and we hope their families are also following the safety measures, VC said.

KSOU is ready to add more teeth to the battle against Covid pandemic, announced VC.
