KSOU: BJP MPs meet UGC head

New Delhi: A delegation of BJP MPs from the State of Karnataka on Wednesday met University Grants Commission ( UGC) Chairman D P Singh.

KSOU VC Dr S Vidyashankar and UGC officials at the meeting held in New Delhi on Wednesday.

The MPs led by Union Minister of State for Railways Suresh Angadi and Mysuru – Kodagu MP Prathap Simha discussed with Singh about the grievances of 95,000 students of Karnataka State Open University ( KSOU), Mysuru, who are pushed towards the brink of uncertainty.

Those students have obtained various degrees during the period of five years from 2013-14 to 2018-19, when the UGC had withdrawn the recognition, till it was restored in 2018. The degree and PG certificates should be considered as valid in the interest of their future, Simha explained in the meeting.

KSOU VC Dr S Vidyashankar was also present during the meeting.

MPs Nalin Kumar Kateel, Bhagwanth Khuba, P C Gaddigowdar and Karadi Sanganna were present.
