2 min read

Bengaluru: Top-seeded Jahnavi Tammineedi and No. 2 seed Padmapriya Ramesh Kumar will be the players to beat in the girls’ section of the KSLTA-Asian Junior (U-14) tournament here this week.

The main draw action of the Asian Tennis Federation event will be played at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium and Sree Kanteerava Stadium courts from Monday.

Jahnavi has one runner-up finish in a Grade I ATF event in Azerbaijan, where she won the doubles title. The 13-year-old, ranked No. 54 in Asia, will be looking to exact revenge on fellow Indian Padmapriya, who put paid to her hopes in the final of a Grade II event in Guwahati a few months ago.

Padmapriya, 12, who also won the doubles title in Guwahati, will be keen to sign off the season on a high. The Mysuru-based youngster is ranked 33 spots below Jahnavi.

In the boys’ section, Rhunmaan Mahesh, winner of the Grade I tournament in Azerbaijan, Madhav Dadhich and Sanjay Girish Kumar will be the ones to watch out for.
