KRS dam authorities sound flood alert

Mandya: The office of executive engineer, Cauvery Neeravari Nigam Limited (CNNL), Krishnaraja Sagar has sounded a flood alert.
According to a release, it is stated that “Following the heavy rainfall in the catchment areas, there has been a huge inflow of water into the dam. Hence 10,000 cusecs to 25,000 cusecs of water is being released into Cauvery river. The outflow can be increased anytime”.
Hence, the people living in river banks and low lying areas are requested to shift to safer locations along with their livestock and ensure safety of their properties, the release added.
