KRS 100! Water level touches 100.05 feet

Mysuru: Water level at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir in Mandya has crossed 100 ft mark against its total capacity of 124.8 feet.

KRS located in Srirangpatna taluk in Mandya district is one of the major reservoirs in South India.

Following heavy rainfall across Kodagu, the catchment area, there is a continuous inflow of water to KRS, increasing the water level day by day.

The inflow on Tuesday was 12,581 cusecs of water, with water level touching 100.05 ft. While in the corresponding period on July 20, 2020 it was 106 ft.

And the outflow is 2228 cusecs.

KRS is one of the important dams, as Karnataka and Tamil Nadu share water for irrigation and drinking water purposes.
