Mysuru: After Bengaluru, cricketing action is all set to start from August 25 in Mysuru.
The second leg of Karnataka Premier League ( KPL)- 2019 tournament, will be played at Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar Stadium ( Gangotri Glades), Manasagangotri in the city.
The first 15 matches were played in Bengaluru and the rest of 10 will be played in the city of palaces with the final slated for August 31.
Member of erstwhile royal family of Mysuru Pramoda Devi Wadiyar recalled her late husband Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar’s tryst with the game, as he was very much excited when he was elected as the president of Karnataka State Cricket Association ( KSCA) for the second time.
“Wadiyar was passionate about sports, but it was cricket always that was dear to his heart”, said Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.
The tournament which is being organised in memory of my husband is also dear to me and I am also following it closely, said Pramoda Devi Wadiyar.
She also lauded the efforts behind, with KSCA organising KPL in the interest of cricket buffs.
KSCA sectetary Sudhakar Rao said “The best of crowds can be expected in Mysuru and we cant wait for the action to start”.
Actress and KPL brand ambassador Ragini Dwivedi added the glint to the glittering event.
Speed painter Shabari Ganiga lent the artistic touch with the portraits of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, along with that of Palace and logos of KSCA and KPL.
A 3D mapping of the trophy, was another attraction of the gala event.
The seating capacity at the stadium has been increased to 8,000 and tickets are available in the range of Rs 50, Rs 100 and Rs 300.
KSCA Mysuru convenor Balachandra was present during the press meet.
