KMF seeks CM’s nod to hike Nandini milk price

1 min read

Bengaluru: Three months after deciding to hike the Nandini milk price by Rs three per litre, Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has submitted the proposal to the state government.

According to KMF Chairman and MLA Balachandra Jarkiholi ” The federation has requested Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai to validate the decision taken during the general body meeting held in January”.

Of Rs three, Rs two will be paid to farmers and Re one to Cooperative Societies, retailers and milk unions.

Jarkiholi has explained that the increase in the cost of procuring raw materials and milk processing prompted the federation to unanimously resolve to hike the milk price.

While the private milk dairies have already hiked the price by Rs eight to Rs 10 per litre, added Jarkiholi with the KMF asking just for Rs three hike per litre.
